The ATHE DRAMATURGY FOCUS GROUP showcases outstanding and innovative work by EMERGING DRAMATURGS in professional and educational theatre.  Emerging professional dramaturgs, graduate students, and interns who have provided dramaturgy for a production or event during the past three seasons are eligible and invited to apply. Undergraduates may be considered.  A distinguished panel of professional theatre literary managers and dramaturgs will adjudicate the panel.

Panelists present overviews of their creative and collaborative processes at ATHEs annual conference in MontrИal. Conference information is available at www.athe.org. Deadline for submission of a prospectus via email is April 1, 2015.  Selected participants will be notified on or about May 1, 2015.  Presenters receive a years free membership in Literary Managers & Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA).

A complete prospectus should include the following:

∙ Overview of the production, project, collaboration≈including location, dates, producing/sponsoring organization, staff

∙ Four-to-six page exploration of the scope, focus, significance, and distinctive aspects of dramaturgy

∙ Supporting materials, e.g., production program, photos, links

One or more letters of support from an artistic director, stage director, literary manager, supervising faculty member, or other theatre professional involved in the process. Letters should address the extent, quality, and significance of your dramaturgy.
