Dr. Peter Jarvis – Lecturer in Water Science

The Cranfield Water Science Institute at Cranfield University, in partnership with Anglian Water, is looking for a highly motivated science, engineering or environmental science graduates to complete a one year MSc by Research degree. The successful candidates will undertake a one year programme of research based in Anglian Water (Peterborough or Cambridge based) leading to a professional Master of Technology qualification.

This project will look at new and novel treatment processes that are suitable to ensure delivery of high quality treated wastewater before it is released into the environment. Project work will be based within Anglian Water’s Innovation department in their wastewater team. Successful candidates will have an Engineering or Science degree with a sound understanding of process science, and ideally possess some knowledge of hydraulics and water and wastewater treatment processes.

Entry requirements:
Applicants should have a first or upper second class UK honours degree or equivalent in a related discipline, such as Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Biological Science. The ideal candidate should have some understanding of wastewater treatment and/or micropollutants/nutrients in the environment. The candidate should be self-motivated, have good communication skills for regular interaction with other stakeholders, with an interest for industrial research.
