PhD Studentship in Maritime Logistics

Southampton Business School has an MPhil/PhD studentship available for postgraduate research students admitted full time onto its MPhil/PhD programme and commencing their studies in October 2015. The studentships will last for a maximum of three years (subject to an annual review of progress) and will provide a maintenance allowance of £9700 per annum, in addition to payment of tuition fees. The research area is connected to the Centre of Excellence for Decision Analytics & Risk Research (CEDARR) . The applicants should have completed their degrees (Master degree is desirable but not essential) with a good result. The applications should have a solid background on optimisation, computer programming skills, and knowledge and interest on maritime logistics.

• Tuition fees will be paid by the School.
• To be eligible for consideration, the full application must be submitted by the submission deadline. This includes the standard application form, CV, a research proposal on maritime logistics and other supporting documentation (transcripts, reference letters, IELTS certificates where necessary, etc.).
• You will also need to allow time for your prospective supervisor(s) to provide a statement of support, and to participate in an interview (the interview may take place shortly after the application deadline of 22 July 2015).
• These studentships are for full time candidates only. If you are awarded this studentship and transfer to part time registration, you will be deemed to have withdrawn from the studentship.
