The 8th Singapore International Parkinson Disease and Movement Disorders Symposium will be held from 28 to 30 June 2018 at Academia, Singapore General Hospital. This successful biennial symposium started in 2002 and had attracted a broad audience of more than 400 participants of clinicians, scientists and allied health professionals each, throughout its seven successful meetings.
At our 8th Symposium, we will focus on the causes, diagnosis and management of Parkinson disease and movement disorders. We will be organising two pre-symposiums on 28 June on Translational Research in Parkinson Disease and Movement Disorders and Deep Brain Stimulation. The main symposium on 29 and 30 June will include plenary sessions, parallel sessions/workshops, and poster/video presentations. We have invited the following renowned international experts as members of our faculty: Jean-Marc Burgunder, Switzerland; Olivier Rascol, France; Zbigniew Wszolek, USA; Martin J. McKeown, Canada, Darren Moore, USA, Hyder A Jinnah, USA, and Richard Reynolds, UK. They, together with other regional and local experts, will enable us to put together an academically rich and enjoyable programme for participants from Singapore and the region.
This Symposium will provide an opportunity for participants to learn about the latest research and perspectives, to listen to renowned speakers, and to be exposed to the most-up-to-date information in the field of Parkinson disease and movement disorders. All sessions will be conducted in English.
We welcome all medical professionals; doctors, researchers, nurses, rehabilitation therapists and other allied health professionals from Singapore and the region to attend this Symposium. We also invite you to submit compelling clinical videos or research abstracts for presentation.
We look forward to meeting you at the Symposium.
