You actively explore possible projects for IRIS (e.g. calls for project proposals) and you look for opportunities for IRIS. Such projects may be of a national, European, or international level, and concern national, international and/or European social fraud, social dumping, issues related to the cross-border enforcement of European rules, free movement etc.

You write project proposals, and you manage the projects of IRIS. This means that, among others, you schedule and monitor the necessary and available resources (financial/personnel) and the necessary and available time; you ensure that deadlines are met, and that contractual and content-related obligations are complied with; you monitor the work packages and write inception and progress reports.

You will be in contact and cooperate with an extensive network of international organisations and inspection services.

Profile of the candidate

  • You have a master’s degree in law (supplementary education or training is considered an asset).
  • You have a basic knowledge of social law. Knowledge of Belgian social law is an asset, but knowledge of European law or knowledge from a comparative perspective are certainly as important.
  • You are especially interested in (European) social fraud and (European) social law.
  • You have a sound knowledge of English (knowledge of Dutch or other foreign languages is an asset).
  • You have a strong ability to take initiative, and you are able to work proactively and independently.
  • You have great planning skills, and you work in a structured manner.
  • You have great analytical skills.
  • You are a problem solver.
  • You also have a healthy dose of team spirit and good communication skills. You are able to convey information in a clear manner.
  • You consider discretion and loyalty to be of paramount importance.
  • You have at least two years of experience in acquiring projects related to European law.
