The small animal programme will again run three parallel full streams.
The orthopaedic stream will focus on feline orthopedics and traumatology, orofacial trauma surgery with surgeon’s perspective and dentist’s perspective, stifle surgery including few lectures on meniscal surgery.
The soft tissue programme will deal with ear, nose and throat surgery; new technologies in surgery; prostate and perianal surgery.
The last stream will be dedicated to video-assisted thoracic surgery and neurosurgery.
The 2019 large animal programme will focus on a number of in-depth aspects of equine surgery. Considering recent scientific advances, the Programme Committee has constructed a programme around the main themes of
Laparoscopy in horses anno 2019: instrumentation, techniques and outcomes
Traumatic wound management: debridement, reconstruction, promotion of healing and grafting techniques
The navicular region: imaging, prognosis and updated treatment modalities
Treating weight bearing cartilage surfaces covering aspects of training, surgical resurfacing and medical cartilage treatments
Surgical hygiene session: identification and prevention of surgical site infections
Vascular surgery in horses: what can be done.
The in-depth streams will be complemented by several cutting-edge research topics on the development of new techniques and outcomes in equine surgery.
