The Institute of Ancient History is looking for an

University Assistant with doctorate

(40 hours a week; fixed-term employment until 6 yeras; position to be filled as of now )

Your duties

  • Independent teaching and research
  • Participation in organisation and administration tasks
  • Cooperation in the application of external funded scientific projects
  • Planning, organizing and publishing of scientific conferences

Your profile

  • Completed excellent studies in History or likewise Classics
  • Excellent research publications in the field of Ancient History
  • Teaching experience
  • Experience in informatics
  • Publications give proof of knowledge in the field of Ancient History
  • An independent research project preferably in Roman History
  • Experience in the implementation of external funded projects
  • Experience in planning, organizing and publishing of scientific conferences
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Independent and responsible work habits
  • Communication and organisational skills

Our offer


Salary scheme of the Universitäten-KV (University Collective Agreement): B1

Minimum salary

The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 3711.10 gross/month. This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
