Over the past forty years the IAC meeting has become the premier forum for new findings in the fields of aldosterone, corticosteroids, metabolizing enzymes and the mineralocorticoid receptor in hypertension, heart failure, atherosclerosis, and the metabolic syndrome. Research from basic, clinical and translational studies are presented throughout the program to achieve a comprehensive and cohesive update to the field.

We are delighted to have Professor Mitch Lazar from the University of Pennsylvania as our plenary speaker in 2019. Professor Lazar is recognised internationally for his work on the transcriptional regulation of metabolism with a specific focus on nuclear receptor signalling including HDAC3 corepressor complexes, the circadian nuclear receptor Rev-erbα.

Invited Senior Lectures will be given by Professor Marc Lombes (Paris), Professor Eleanor Davies (Glasgow) and Professor Jim Sowers (Missouri). These lectures will cover basic, clinical and translational aspects of aldosterone and mineralocorticoid receptor research over the last decade as well as recent updates from the speakers’ research groups.

A Young Investigator Competition for PhD students and Post Doctoral Fellows less than 5 years post PhD is open and finalists will be selected from submitted abstracts for presentation at the meeting. Following the success of the 2018 IAC meeting we will again hold a moderated poster session format.

For many years attendance to the IAC was by personal invitation only. From 2005 on we have enjoyed sponsorship that has allowed the meeting to be open to all who are interested in the function of aldosterone and the mineralocorticoid receptor from universities, hospitals, research institutes and industry from around the world.

Please mark your calendar and plan to attend!
