Fellowship advertisement
The Serbski Institut/Sorbian Institute with its Head Office in Bautzen and a branch in Cottbus is a research facility and does research on the language, history and culture of the Sorbs (Wends) in Upper and Lower Lusatia. It collects and archives the necessary resources, prepares them for research and makes them available to the public. In addition, the Instituteʻs interdisciplinary research focuses on the current situation, the specifics and the comparison of other small languages and cultures in Europe.
The Serbski Institute/Sorbian Institute grants two to three fellowships per year for a research stay of at least four weeks each. They are awarded for research projects dealing with questions of (comparative) minority research and/or the language, history and culture of the Lusatian Sorbs. The Fellowships are aimed at both younger and established scholars from Germany and abroad. Applicants must have a university degree (usually at least Masterʻs degree), a promising research idea that fits in with the research profile of the Sorbian Institute, and the language skills required for the research stay.
