Postdoctoral researcher in fundamentals of reactor and catalyst for photo-catalytic processes

The group of Industrial Chemistry focuses on teaching and research related to chemical reaction engineering and reactor design.

Job description

The research focus in this postdoctoral position will be in design of catalyst, electrode and reactor for photo-catalytic model reactions in energy storage and transformation. The primary work tasks of the postdoctoral researcher are to carry out research, to instruct doctoral and undergraduate students and to seek funding possibilities.This is a one-year postdoctoral appointment (with possibility of extension).


As a successful applicant, you should have interest in surface kinetics, ion transfer and reactor efficiency of photo-stimulated reactions. You should have ambition to pursue an academic career. In addition, you should have interest in and be able to contribute to the teaching tasks of the courses the group is in charge of.

The candidate should also have:

  • PhD degree in a suitable field
  • Proven publication record in a related field
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English
  • Experience in carrying out independent project-based work and working in a highly collaborative environment


The salary is determined according to the salary system of Aalto University and depends on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
