Postdoc Position related to Earthquake Hazard and Risk Modelling

The position is part of a multidisciplinary project that aims at the development of an earthquake risk model at city scale in Switzerland. The core duties include the implementation and operation of a seismic risk model together with the other project partners. The site effect part of the risk model has a pivotal role in the project, and will be investigated using observed ground motion and numerical modelling techniques. The candidate is expected to conduct numerous fieldwork activities, such as the site characterisation based on active and passive seismic methods; to design and operate temporary seismic networks; and to analyse, interpret and document earthquake recordings. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to earthquake risk modelling. The candidate is expected to contribute to the main activities of the Swiss Seismological Service, as well as teaching at undergraduate level.
