The Materials Theory Group at ETH Zürich has the following opening for a postdoctoral researcher with an expected starting time-frame of Summer 2019.

Postdoc (100 %) Hidden, entangled and resonating orders

As part of our ERC Synergy Collaboration, HERO, we aim to identify new kinds of hidden order driven by coupled quantum mechanical order parameters in materials. The postdoctoral researcher will develop and implement theoretical methods and computational algorithms for identifying signatures of coupled orders in experiments utilizing neutrons or photons, and propose materials for optimizing the effects.

The candidate should have experience with electronic structure calculations, as well as familiarity with/interest in experimental characterization methods at large-scale facilities are desirable.
