Post-Doctoral Researcher - Evaluating Global Food Systems Sustainability

We are looking for a candidate who is highly motivated to work in a project that aims to assess the current status and future scenarios of global food system sustainability through nutrition, environmental, economic and social dimensions. The project aims to improve existing or develop new sustainability evaluation methods and apply them to global food systems databases and future projections to identify areas of improvement for different countries and regions. An interdisciplinary approach in strong collaboration with other ETH research groups is foreseen.

The candidate should have excellent academic qualifications, writing skills, strong self-motivation and ability to work in fast-paced interdisciplinary environment. Strong statistical, computer programming and big data analysis skills are necessary qualifications for the position. Experience in quantitative sustainability assessment and mathematical modelling of environmental systems will be considered a plus.

The successful candidate must have a Master and Dr./Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in Sustainability Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Data Sciences, Bioscience Engineering or a closely-related area.
A two-page research proposal outlining the current challenges, important literature and possible approaches to tackle food sustainability challenges is required to consider the application.
