The Urban Energy Systems Laboratory investigates into novel cooling and energy storage solutions for application in buildings with a particular focus on sorption processes with thermochemical materials. Postdoc in the area of thermal energy storage, physical modelling and technology evaluation

 

Your tasks

  • Simulation based feasibility checks and evaluation of novel cooling and storage concepts/approaches to start new projects
  • Systematic technology evaluation for cooling application in buildings
  • Physical modelling of storages, heat pumps, heat exchangers, ...
  • Building simulation for integration of cooling and storage technologies in buildings
  • Physical modelling of thermochemical reactors with coupled fluid flow and heat and mass transfer phenomena
  • Project acquisition
  • Scientific publishing

 

 

Your profile

  • PhD in physics, engineering or related fields
  • Expertise in heat and mass transfer phenomena and fluid dynamics
  • Experience in fluid dynamics / multi-physics numerical simulation
  • Experience with multi-physics software tools such as Comsol, Ansys or similar
  • Some familiarity with building energy and system simulation tools (TRNSYS, Modelica or similar) desired
  • Scientific track record with publications in related fields/Topics
