The Research Group of the project "Secular trends, spatial evolution and maternal and neonatal conditions associated with neonatal mortality in the State of São Paulo" from the Neonatal-Pediatrics Class at the Sao Paulo School of Medicine of Federal University of Sao Paulo (EPM-UNIFESP), os offering an opportunity for Post-PhD (1 scholarship) funded by the Sao Paulo Research Foundation -- FAPESP. The general objective of the thematic project (grant number 2017/3748-7) is to analyze non-random patterns of secular tendency, spatial evolution and maternal and neonatal conditions associated with neonatal mortality due to prematurity, respiratory disorders, perinatal asphyxia, infections and congenital anomalies in the State of São Paulo, Brazil, between 2004 and 2016. It is a cohort study with secondary data obtained from the databases provided by the SEADE (State System of Data Analysis) Foundation. The post-doctoral fellowship (40 hours per week) is related to the analysis of the spatial evolution of neonatal mortality in the study years, and it will be supervised by Prof. Carlos Roberto Veiga Kiffer.

Candidates must have experience with epidemiological and statistical analysis of population databases. The opportunity is open to Brazilians and foreigners with a PhD degree obtained in Brazil or abroad for less than 7 years. The selected recipient will receive a Post-Doctoral scholarship from FAPESP in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly for 24 months renewable. A reserve equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the scholarship will be available to meet unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity. If the student is residing at a different location and needs to move to the city where the research institution is located, he/she may be entitled to a grant-installation.
