The business unit “Industrial Media Applications“ (IMA) acts as bridge between research and industry. Developed technologies for signal recording, analysis and processing, accompanied by its acoustic measurement technique, as well as data security aspects are used for applications in the context of Industry 4.0. These solutions are applied for acoustic monitoring of products and production processes.

Your tasks:

  • Project management
  • Conduction of requirement analyses
  • Design and implementation of experiments
  • Audio signal processing in the area of industrial sounds
  • Application of machine learning methods and deep learning approaches

What we expect from you

  • An obtained university degree in Informatics, Media Technology or related discipline, at master level or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of machine learning (ML) as well as deep learning methods
  • Confident handling of at least one ML framework (e.g., TensorFlow, KERAS etc.)


  • Experiences in applying ML methods to audio signals
  • Basic knowledge of audio signal processing and related topics 3 years professional experience

Appointment, remuneration and social security benefits base on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD). Additionally, Fraunhofer may grant performance-based variable remuneration components
