The New England Association of Teachers of English invites educators and graduate students at all levels to submit workshop proposals for our fall conference. This year’s theme is Reading and Writing the World Around Us.
NEATE values literacy and its essential role in our interactions with the world. We are looking for dynamic and interactive presentations that fit the needs of today’s educators and students.
We seek workshops that address the conference theme and/or fit into the following strands:
- Preparing students to read and write for today’s world
- Text as a medium for social justice and civic engagement
- Media literacy as a platform for engaging students
- Social emotional learning that encourages student voice in the classroom
- Additional topics relevant to the conference theme
Seventy- five minute concurrent workshops will be held on Friday and Saturday. Conference participants are appreciative of interactive presentations that can be easily adapted to the classroom.
