Two post-doctoral positions funded with scholarships from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) are available within the scope of BONDS – “Balancing BiOdiversity CoNservation with Development in Amazonian WetlandS”, a broad and interdisciplinary project involving researchers from national and international institutions.

One of the candidates will investigate the relationship between phytoplankton biodiversity and light availability in the water column expressed by the spectral diffuse attenuation coefficient, estimated from satellite images.

The other candidate will study the effects of hydrological connectivity on fish productivity and fish diversity in floodplain lakes of the Amazon basin.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
