Position

The Irset team “Dynamics of Microenvironment and Cancer - Structure, Signaling, Contaminants” (Dymec) opens a position available for a highly motivated postdoctoral toxicologist.

Missions

Under the supervision of Dr. Sophie Langouët, the postdoctoral researcher will implement the project 3D-IVMA, a 3-year funded by ITMO Cancer/Aviesan (France). This project aims to develop and integrate of new innovative in vitro 3D culture approaches for hepato-Mutagenesis Assessment. The researcher is expected to actively participate in the experiments, do a systematic review of the literature, data management and analysis, writing scientific papers. A strong cellular and molecular toxicology background in required.

Main Activities

  • Research activities using various technical approaches (cell cultures of human hepatocytes (primary and transformed in 2D and 3D), xenobiotic metabolism activities analysis, DNA damages characterizations, mutations analysis) and all experiments required for the project.
  • Interpreting and discussion of the results with other project members.
  • Scientific communication activities including the drafting of articles, and presentations at conferences.
  • Systematic reviews of the literature.

Associated Activities

  • Collaboration with other Irset teams as well as Institut Pasteur of Lille (France).
  •  Mentoring of master researchers.

Knowledge

The candidate should have preferentially a PhD in Toxicology with good knowledge in carcinogenesis and DNA damages (cell biology specialist could also fit with the profile). Experience in cell culture, xenobiotic metabolism, genotoxicity and mutation analysis is required. A first experience as a postdoctoral fellow and outstanding research achievements are an asset.

  • Skills in cell culture, enzymes activity measurements, mutations analysis and (geno)toxicology techniques required for the project
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  •  Excellent writing skills.
