Postdoctoral Fellow In Pulmonary Drug Delivery

Country: Belgium;

City: Louvain-La-Neuve

Vacancy added: 15.05.2019

Employer: Université catholique de Louvain

Resumes due: 21.06.2019

Although inhalation aerosols allow a local treatment in respiratory diseases, the rapid clearance of protein therapeutics from the lung implies the requirement to deliver them once daily. This imposes a significant time burden on the patients and might reduce patient compliance and the therapeutic outcome of the treatment. The goal of this project is to develop nanomedicines offering a sustained presence of the protein drug within the lung as well as an ability to localize within a particular sub-compartment of the lung for a targeted effect, that is, either within the lung lining fluid or, within the lung parenchyma.

This 2-year project is funded the Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique ( The project will be performed in collaboration with Dr. Mireille Dumoulin of the Protein Engineering Center of the University of Liège. You will receive a 12 month postdoctoral fellowship with a net allocation ranging from 2 490€ to 2 600€ per month, according to your seniority. The contract will start Sept. 1st 2019 and will be renewable once for a total of 22 months.
