About this Opportunity

Applicants will be expected to teach STEAM focused courses (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) primarily in the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate Initial Teacher Education primary programs and postgraduate programs in areas relevant to their expertise.  The successful appointee will have the capacity to pursue a strong and productive program of research relevant to the School’s existing and emerging research priorities (https://education.uq.edu.au/research) and to supervise research students. The appointee will be expected to undertake administration, service, and leadership roles commensurate with their level of appointment. The Ideal Candidate

Applicants should possess a PhD in Education with a tertiary degree in a STEAM Education discipline area. We are looking for a STEAM Educator with experience of curriculum leadership and innovation and, ideally, scholarly activity within the field. Candidates would also benefit from having had experience of working with STEAM student teachers across years K-12, provision of teacher professional development in schools and be able to develop creative approaches to teaching STEAM in the initial teacher education and Educational Studies suite of programs. Applicants should show evidence of innovative teaching contributions to undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degree programs.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time continuing position at Academic level B. The remuneration package will be in the range $95,771 - $113,728 p.a. plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $112,052 - $133,062 p.a.)

Our Selection Process

As part of the Selection Process, applicants shortlisted for interview may be required to present a research and/or teaching seminar to members of the school community prior to their scheduled interview. Research and/or teaching seminars topics will be provided with adequate notice to shortlisted candidates.
