The University of Queensland’s Centre for the Business and Economics of Health (CBEH) delivers leading economic evidence, analyses and insights to help policy- and decision-makers create sustainable healthcare systems that promote better patient outcomes and value for all Australians.

Through collaborative and customised research, CBEH aims to inform and improve how governments and care providers respond to and plan for the changing and complex healthcare needs of a diverse population.

The Centre is also building human capital and capability in the healthcare sector through postgraduate research opportunities and executive education programs for current and future leaders, focusing on change management, evaluation, resource allocation and innovation.

CBEH was established in 2015 and is a joint initiative of UQ’s Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences, and Mater Research Institute-UQ.

 

About This Opportunity

The successful candidate will contribute to the research program of Econometric Modelling and resource use implications of NCDs in women. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will develop econometric models, analyse statistical data sets and prepare publications for peer-reviewed journals and presentation at seminars. Within this role you may be expected to undertake some sessional teaching. An important part of this role will also be liaising with external partners and attending CBEH and BEL Faculty events.

 

Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a collaborative researcher with experience in the statistical analysis of large datasets and a familiarity and understanding of the health system. Applicants should possess, or be near completion of, a PhD in health economics/health econometrics or a relevant field. You will demonstrate a high level of inter-personal communication skills, expert knowledge of modern econometric techniques and have evidence of research activity and publication in peer-reviewed literature.

This is a full-time, fixed term position at Academic level A.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $67,542 - $90,982 plus super of up to 17%.
