About This Opportunity

The successful applicant will participate in research in support of the project "Banks, Endogenous Network Formations and Financial Crisis". The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will develop a program of applied and contract research in economic theory and financial economics, engage in economic theoretical and empirical analyses and prepare articles for publication in high-quality journals. An important part of this role will be to collaborate with members of the School of Economics, engage with external stakeholders and supervise research assistants as required.

For US applicants, please note that Australian Universities use British terminology, as such a Lecturer (Level B) position is equivalent to that of an Assistant Professor position in the US.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a collaborative researcher with a PhD in Economics, finance or a closely related discipline, as well as the following skills and experience:

  • Expert knowledge in Economic Theory and Financial Economics
  • Ability to represent and promote academic discipline at a university and wider community level
  • Evidence of a contribution to research, including successful grant applications
  • Evidence of a publication record including working papers
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues


What We Can Offer

This is a part-time, fixed term (0.8 FTE) position at Academic level A.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $67,542 - $90,982, plus super of up to 17%.
