Metropolitan State University (MSU), the University of Northern Colorado (UNC), and the University of Wyoming (UW) will host the seventh annual Western Bioarchaeology Group (WeBiG) meeting on October 18 - 19th, 2019.  The conference will be held in Denver, Colorado at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Downtown. The Western Bioarchaeology Group (WeBiG) was founded in 2012 with the mission of organizing an annual meeting in western North America. The aim of an annual meeting is to facilitate collegial engagement and networking, and promote discussion of issues in bioarchaeological theory and method.

WeBiG aims to be inclusive and encourages student participation, with informal and low-cost meetings. There is no membership requirement or membership fee. Participants pay a registration fee that covers the cost of each conference. Annual conferences include a plenary talk and reception on opening night, and one full day session of themed speakers and posters.  The annual conference is run entirely by volunteers from the sponsoring institution(s), and the current rotating Chair and steering committee that will host the meeting.

Past meetings include the 2013 meeting at the University of California at Berkeley (co-organized by Sabrina Agarwal and Christina Torres-Rouff), the 2014 meeting at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (organized by Debra Martin), the 2015 meeting at Arizona State University (co-organized by Brenda Baker and Kelly Knudson), the 2016 meeting (organized by Alexis Boutin), the 2017 meeting at the University of Nevada, Reno (organized by Marin Pilloud), the 2018 meeting at California State University, Chico (organized by Eric Bartelink, Colleen Milligan, and Ashley Kendell).
