The University of Adelaide is now seeking an esteemed academic as the next Chair in Creative Writing, based in the School of Humanities, in the Faculty of Arts. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to at a prominent and world-ranking University, located in one of the world’s most liveable cities.

The Chair of Creative Writing will provide leadership to cultivate and encourage academic and research areas within the School of Humanities, across a multitude of areas such as fiction, poetry, genre writing, cross-disciplinary writing, trans-national writing, and writing for new media.

Reporting to the Head of School of Humanities, the Chair is a professorial position that contributes to excellence in teaching, ensures high quality student graduates, supervises higher degree research students and generates research outputs of distinction and leads discipline-based collaborative engagement.
