The MSS invites submissions for the 2020 Annual Meeting beginning September 3, 2019. The submission deadline for regular members is November 1, 2019; undergraduate submissions are due January 15, 2020. Submissions can take a variety of forms, including formal papers, posters, teaching techniques, workshops, panels, organized closed sessions, and other alternative presentation formats such as Innovative Presentations powered by PechaKucha, 3-Minute Theses, and Lightning Talks. We also welcome submissions for Author Meets Critic and Academics Meet Activists sessions. And, new this year – volunteer to participate on panels by submitting via the “Panel Participant” option. All submissions must be made via the online submission system. The online form will guide you through the steps required to submit. When members submit, they will select a topic and session type best fitting their submission. To submit, log in or create a profile to access the MSS member portal and then begin the submission process! Individuals who present at the MSS meeting must be MSS members and be registered for the conference.
Submitters should prepare the following information prior to starting the online submission process.
Session title and description (if closed session, workshop, or panel)
Names and contact information for presenters/participants
Paper title and abstract (if formal paper, poster, teaching technique, or alternative format)
The submitter will receive acknowledgement upon successful submission. Because MSS wants to accommodate as many participants as possible, individuals are limited to three appearances on the program. After the submission deadline, voluntary session organizers (VSOs) review submissions to each topic and group submissions into separate sessions, with a final review done by the Program Chair, Student Director and Meeting Systems Coordinator.
