OSUCHiLL is one of the premier graduate student conferences on Hispanic and Lusophone linguistics in the United States. The conference, organized entirely by graduate students in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at The Ohio State University, aims to bring together a wide variety of scholars working within distinct disciplines and on many different aspects of Spanish, Portuguese, and languages in contact with them.

The organizers of OSUCHiLL are excited to welcome Dr. Terrell A. Morgan (The Ohio State University) and Dr. Whitney Chappell (The University of Texas at San Antonio).

Call for Papers:

We welcome papers dealing with any aspect of Hispanic or Lusophone linguistics, including but not limited to: variation, sociolinguistics, pragmatics, phonetics, phonology, morphology, historical linguistics, psycholinguistics, semantics, and syntax. We also welcome papers that discuss creoles or indigenous languages of Hispanic and Lusophone countries. Talks will be allotted 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion and may be given in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
