Prenatal diagnosis is evolving rapidly: Our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying congenital disorders and diseases of pregnancy is increasing exponentially and the opportunities for prediction, prevention and treatment of these conditions are likewise expanding.
We invite you to join us for the 18th conference of the International Society of Prenatal Diagnosis, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, 20 - 23 July 2014. The meeting will provide an update on our understanding of the basic mechanisms underlying expression of chromosomal and genetic disorders and novel methodologies for their detection. The significant strides made towards prevention and treatment of adverse obstetric outcomes will be delineated. The ethical aspects of novel diagnostic technologies and prospective issues for counseling will be debated and there will be opportunities to take part in sessions directed at strategic planning for translational research and clinical practice.
Brisbane, Queensland’s capital is a young and vibrant city that typically enjoys blue sunny skies during the winter months. The city’s industries are focused on the development and application of new technologies, synonymous with the changes occurring in prenatal diagnosis at this time. Brisbane is the gateway to five world heritage sites including the Great Barrier Reef, Fraser Island, the Riversleigh Fossil site, and pristine sub-tropical and tropical rainforests. We hope you will be able to spend a few extra days visiting these areas of outstanding natural beauty as part of your trip to Australia.
