Environment and health are two most important issues in modern society. It is equally important to recognize the powerful role of the media in shaping our knowledge and views about the two issues. In the past decades, a large number of crucial agendas have been built through and promoted in the media, ranging from global warming, fair trade consumption, energy footprints, source reduction, to health promotion, risk prevention and intervention. This international, interdisciplinary conference will provide a platform for scholars and practitioners who are interested in the intersection of media, environment, and health, to present new development in theory and practice, to discuss new research avenues in health and environment communication, and to mutually explore new directions for future studies.

The objectives of the conference are

  • To bring together international scholars, educators and industry practitioners to share ideas about theories and practices to promote responsible environmental and health behaviours
  • To bring different academic disciplines together to share theoretical insights and empirical evidence of current issues in media and health as well as environment.

Specifically, topics for this conference shall include (but are not restricted to):

  • Environmental news reporting
  • Environmental framing and media discourse
  • Environmental promotion campaigns
