DTU Civil Engineering is inviting applications for a 3-year PhD position starting end 2020. The general objective of the PhD project is to develop methods to assess hygrothermal risks and possibilities when using interior insulation of masonry with special focus on Danish conditions (building style, climate etc.). The aim is to provide the Danish building sector with tools that will improve the possibility to assess risks in applying interior insulation of different kinds with or without hydrophobisation to masonry walls, not just in general but in the specific case. There is a need for such tools to facilitate energy improvement of buildings where external changes to the façade are unacceptable for historical or architectural reasons.
