At Department of Culture and Global Studies, The Faculty of Humanities, 2 PhD positions within Language and Linguistics is open for appointment from 1 August 2016 or as soon as possible after this date.

Job description

Applicants must formulate a research project, comprising no more than ten pages, within one of the following fields:

  • Descriptions of specific linguistic phenomena, for example within selected genres or types of texts
  • The functionality of language
  • The interaction between a) language and cognition, b) language and culture, c) language and identity or d) language and society
  • Language policy
  • Comparative language studies
  • Second/foreign language acquisition

If the project is centred on a specific language, this must be one of the following: Danish, English, Spanish or German (or a combination of these).

The application must provide an outline of how the proposed project contributes to research conducted in the research group LangLing. Applications may be submitted in Danish or English.

The PhD positions are part of the Obel Family Foundation Elite PhD programme at the Faculty of Humanities at Aalborg University.

The qualifications of the applicant will be assessed by an assessment committee. On the basis of the recommendation of the assessment committee, the Dean will make a decision for allocating the stipends.
