The Institute of Alte Geschichte und Altertumskunde, Papyrologie und Epigraphik is devoted to research into the Greek, Roman and Etruscan world with all its facettes and stresses the importance of the use of primary sources (literature, papyri, inscriptions and coins) in research and teaching. The advertised job is that of an "Assistent(in)" with a focus on Greek history.

Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week
Occupation group in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc)
On top of this relevant chargeable work experience determines the assessment to a particular salary grade.

Areas of work:
Participation in the institute's teaching and research programme with a focus on Greek epigraphy. Teaching following the regulations laid down in the University rules.

Profile:
Conditiones sine quibus non are the mastering of Ancient Greek, Latin and the usual modern languages (including German - this English advertisement would therefore, in fact, not be necessary; thus, if you do not understand the German version, you should think twice before applying) and experience in Greek epigraphy. The experience of research abroad is welcome.
