Partial differential equations can be applied to different fields of natural sciences. We are interested in recent results on dissipative system with stabilization mechanisms, like memory, friction, thermal effect, and viscosity. For instance, the problems involving hyperbolic differential equations are related to wave equations and several kinds of systems as Timoshenko beams, laminated beam structures, system with delay, and problem with mixture. In general elastic, thermoelastic, thermoviscoelastic, and magnetoelastics systems among others are quite interesting. Important questions are modeling of these problems, existence and uniqueness of solution, controllability, existence of attractors, and also the stabilization of the model; in this direction the asymptotic behavior is a very fruitful field for research.

The purpose of this special issue is to publish high-quality research papers as well as review articles addressing recent advances on asymptotic behavior of dissipative systems in partial differential equations and its applications.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

    Exponential stabilization
    General decay of solutions
    Uniform stabilization
