With the recent improvement in cancer immunotherapy, there are glimmers of hope for new immune targets with more being recognized each year. We believe that immunotherapy represents a supportive modality in cancer. However, there remains much to be learned about the immune microenvironment and its function in the immune escape of cancer cells. Immunotherapy is one of these new approaches that have been under investigation in a variety of cancers. Two immunological methods define the immune response against cancer cells: the effector process and the suppressor process. Numerous forms of cancer vaccine approaches are being explored.
Cancer immunotherapy is increasingly offering many unique properties and opportunities and for this reason we would like to invite you to submit your upcoming research articles that will contribute to and challenge the development of great understanding about how immunotherapy works in cancer patients and which approach is suited for a specific type of cancer.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
Synthetic vaccines (peptides/proteins)
DNA/RNA based vaccines
Cellular-based vaccines (Virus, DC, and lysate)
