Analysis of chemical structure and composition of solids and liquids by high-precision instrumental methods

Data of several methods for graphene oxide (11 at.% O)

UV-vis spectra and XRD patterns of various nanooxides of different crystallinity

Methods such as Infrared, UV-vis, NMR spectroscopies, XPS, XRD, temperature-programmed desorption with mass spectrometry (TPD MS), MALDI, thermogravimetry (TG), chromatography, and element analysis allow one to obtain information on chemical structure and composition of solid materials and liquids.

To obtain complete information on a matter one should prepare a mosaic picture with a number of pieces, each of which is  provided by a certain method. For example, spectral methods give info on types of atoms and chemical bonds between them; TPD MS, MALDI, and chromatography give info on present chemical compounds, but it is unknown for all of them or not.

The investigations will be carried out by experts with great background used upon working on breakdown elimination at Chernobyl power station during 1986-87.

Investigations of materials and liquids:

- Spectral pictures with several methods (IR, UV-vis, NMR);

- TPD MS (desorption and decomposition with analysis of fragments)

- MALDI (up to 300 kDa);

- TG with differential thermal analysis (300-1300  K) in air or an inert atmosphere;

- XRD analysis of crystalline phases;

- Rheology of liquids and suspensions.
