Call for Papers

Oral and poster presentations are solicited on all aspects of climate variability and change, both observational and modeling studies. Papers directed at an improved understanding of the changing climate are especially encouraged, and sessions on the following topics are planned:

  • Climate Sensitivity
  • Climate modeling for the IPCC
  • Decadal-Multidecadal variability in the Pacific and the Atlantic
  • Variability and change in the tropical and extratropical circulation
  • Climate variations on intraseasonal to interannual time scales
  • Aerosols, clouds and climate
  • Structure and evolution of climate teleconnections in observations & simulations
  • Arctic climate variability and change
  • Role of the stratosphere in climate variability and change
  • African climate variations and change
  • ENSO dynamics, diversity, prediction, and impacts
  • Atmospheric rivers and other extreme climate events
  • Convection-resolving/Eddy-permitting climate modeling

A special session honoring Jay Fein’s contributions to the field of Climate Variability and Change is also planned.  Additional session topics are welcome and encouraged.  Please contact the program chairs (contact information noted below) by 1 May 2017 to propose a session topic.
