The majority of Jack London’s publications were penned during the last seven years of his career—from 1909, when he abandoned the Snark voyage, to 1916, when he died. Yet this final period of literary production has been overshadowed by the author’s more famous earlier works. We invite paper proposals for a special panel dedicated to “Late London.” How do we talk about such a short span of time that contained such a wide array of materials? How do London’s various genres—science fiction, rural realism, nautical adventure, atavistic memoir, postapocalyptic fantasy—speak to each other in these later years? How does this final flourishing of experimental narrative modes and styles change the way we characterize London’s overall career as a writer?
