The department is currently seeking to recruit staff to the position of Post-doctoral Researcher, Management and leadership, for a fixed period of 1 September 2019 - 31 August 2023.

The mission of the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics (JSBE) is to conduct high-level research by national and international standards, and to offer quality degree education and executive education in business and economics. We contribute to the societal impact of the University of Jyväskylä by promoting university-based entrepreneurship and innovation activities. 

Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics is an active, internationally-minded and cooperative faculty in the dynamic and international University of Jyväskylä. There are 18 professorships at the JSBE, and the number of other staff is around 100. Over a thousand students study at JSBE. Each year, around 150 students graduate as Masters of Science (econ), and 13 -15 doctoral dissertations are publicly defended at JSBE.

Post-doctoral Researcher of Management and Leadership carries out research and teaching in human resource management (HRM) and leadership. Further duties include participation in research funding applications and other administrative and research and teaching -related tasks.

The duties and qualification requirements and language skills for the position of the Postdoctoral Researcher are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines . According to Finnish law, a non-native university teaching and research staff member can be granted an exemption from the requirement of Finnish language proficiency. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to have good skills in English language.

Applicants are required to have PhD in the field of Management and Leadership. Evidence on successful research work in the above-mentioned fields and experience in successful teaching are considered as and advantage for the applicant. In addition, a good command of Finnish language (oral and written) is required.

The job-specific salary component of a postdoctoral researcher is based on the job demands level 5-6 (EUR 2903,61 - 3386,00 /month) according to the salary system concerning teaching and research staff at universities. In addition, a personal performance-based salary component amounting to 6- 50% of the job-specific salary component is also paid.

A trial period of six months will be used when the position is first filled.
