Summary

The laboratory of Genetic of Microorganisms of the Institute for Tropical Medicine of the University of São Paulo (IMT-USP), Brazil, looks for a post-doctoral researcher who is highly motivated and scientifically productive to work on Project CADDE – Brazil-UK Centre for Arbovirus Discovery, Diagnosis, Genomics & Epidemiology (FAPESP grant number #2018/14389-0), with research on mosquito vectors of arbovirus in areas of the state of São Paulo. 

Those interested should have a doctorate and proven experience in performing NGS and phylogenetic analysis. They should also be available for trips in Brazil. 

The scholarship is for a period of at least one year and may be renewed, depending on the performance of the candidate, agreement of the project coordinator and approval of the grantor – FAPESP, the São Paulo Research Foundation.

The start date is flexible and the position will remain open until a candidate with the required profile is selected. Initially, candidates must apply from April 22nd 2019 until May 08th, 2019. It is encouraged that interested parties ask questions and request clarifications about the post-doctoral degree before sending the documents. The position is open to Brazilians and foreigners, even those who do not have knowledge of the Portuguese language. The documents requested for registration are:

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
