Educating Animators is in its 2nd year, a day of talks and presentations on teaching methodologies and industry insight into the delivery of a challenging progressive curriculum and answering the skills gap for the future of Animation sector. The community of Animators are starting to address diversity, this year we would welcome proposals for presentations covering how across education, training and industry we support diversity and inclusivity, how it is built into programmes of study, teaching and learning materials, internship, recruitment both for students or staff, and how we explore representations in our content. 

Animation may well claim to be the world’s most expressive artform. With each year new technologies and subversions of old open up collaborations with many different mediums to offer a platform that has no defined boundary. With limitless creative potential and interdisciplinary nature, approaching animation from an educational point of view may sometimes prove a challenge. The continuing focus of this academic conference will be the pedagogic response to animation; how it is taught and understood across Higher Education, Schools, Community Workshops and within the Industry itself. 

The conference is an opportunity to share and debate good practice across the education sector and open up conversations with industry to support knowledge transfer, shape a graduating student ready for industry, lifelong learning and how we shape it through a community from schools to studio.
