Graduate students at Northwestern University, University of Chicago, and University of Illinois at Chicago invite paper submissions on any topic related to the conference theme broadly construed, but submissions of high quality are also considered whether or not they relate to the theme.

Plus, Wi-Phi at Northwestern is pleased to offer $400 in order to sponsor a woman or non-binary graduate student to attend the conference, chosen among the selected papers. If you would like to be considered for the prize, just include a line in your email indicating this.

Potential topics for papers include, but are not limited to, the following:

· The intersubjective dimension of speech acts

· Testimonial knowledge and social epistemology

· Philosophy of mind and explanations of “self” or “self-consciousness”

· Ethical significance of the concept of self and its intersubjectivity

· Personal Identity—metaphysical explanations, ethical consequences of distinctions at the personal level

· Knowledge of self and other

· The socially constructed “self,” the socially constructed “other”

· Aesthetic perspectives on belonging or alienation

· The politics and power of inclusion (or exclusion)

· First personal perspective, third personal perspective and the relationship between them
