As part of a dynamic team, the post-doc will analyse the functional interactions of factors involved in translational control in vitro and in vivo. Outstanding applicants have a strong background in biochemistry, biophysics and/or structural biology. Expertise in molecular biology and protein biochemistry is essential. Experience in mammalian cell culture is highly desirable. Experience in in vitro translation, ribosome/RNA biochemistry or in vivo genetic code expansion is a definite plus.
The position requires a Ph.D (awarded or imminent) in Biochemistry, Structural Biology or a related field. The successful candidate is a highly motivated, committed individual who enjoys working as part of a highly dynamic, collaborative and multidisciplinary team and has good communication skills.
The post-doc will be based in the Berger-Schaffitzel (lead) laboratory in a highly collaborative setup including the Berger and Crump groups (Bristol), the Kulozik and Hentze groups (Univ. of Heidelberg, Germany) and Rappsilber group (Univ. of Edinburgh & Berlin).
