Young European Ambassadors

Страна: Европа;

Дедлайн: 16.10.2020

The EU is partnering with young people in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries to raise awareness of the EU’s cooperation in the region, help develop youth policies and work together for a better future.

The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative is a vibrant European network established for that purpose, connecting active young people in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and in the EU Member States.

The YEAs foster youth cooperation in their local communities and talk about EU topics that matter. They are peer role models, they share their voice, build mutual understanding and help shape the views on the EU and its relations with the eastern neighbourhood.

The YEAs initiative was established in June 2016 as part of the ‘EU NEIGHBOURS east’ project within the EU’s OPEN Neighbourhood programme.

In 2020, there are more than 700 YEAs in six eastern partner countries, in 27 EU Member States and in the UK representing over 34 different nationalities.

Meet our Young European Ambassadors: students, young professionals and leaders who are volunteering their time to engage in hundreds of activities across the countries and online.

The YEAs initiative offers volunteering, career building and young leadership opportunities to its network members.

EU events

YEAs contribute to policy discussions by participating in a variety of EU events, including European youth forums, Eastern Partnership conferences, EU study trips and seminars across the region and in the EU Member States.

Expert trainings

All active YEAs can participate in regular training sessions online, to learn about key EU topics straight from the experts that deal with these issues on a daily basis, including EU officials, diplomats, journalists, representatives of civil society and companies. The trainings are aimed at building YEAs capacity to understand the EU cooperation better and hone practical skills that can be later used in their own voluntary work.

YEAs trainings

As part of their activities, YEAs themselves can become trainers, mentors or advisers within the initiative so they are able to transfer their knowledge and experience to their peers. Be it an Erasmus+ experience, or EU project job, or taking part of EU cooperation in any other way, the YEAs are the best people to talk about their own experiences.

Community events and active engagement online

However, the initiative is mostly built around YEA’s own ideas and actions that address different key issues linked with the EU in their communities. Talks, workshops, ideathons, pub quizzes, meetings, school visits, fairs, Europe Days or Instagram live debates, online bingos, social media campaigns, vlogs, takeovers and much more - these are just some of the examples of the close tp 500 activities that the YEAs have carried out throughout the years.

  1. Are you between 16-26 years old?
  2. Are you from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine or from any of the EU Member States?
  3. Are you active and interested in connecting to your peers in those countries with the common goal of explaining the EU better in your communities?

If so, please read the selection criteria and FAQ here

Then, send us an Expression of Interest by FILLING IN THIS SHORT FORM.

Once received, our Regional and National Focal points located in the EU and in all of the six eastern partner countries will get in touch with you and advise you of the next steps.

In general, the application process is simple and consists of completing an application package, taking a short quiz, liaising with the National Focal Points and participating actively in YEAs activities.

We accept new applicants four times a year, at the end of each quarter, but you can already be busy during your time as a candidate. Once you are part of the process of becoming a Young European Ambassador, we will try to connect you to a prospective mentor.
