Applications are invited from motivated and talented individuals for a position as laboratory technician within the R&D unit of the Hevesy Laboratory at DTU Health Tech, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The starting date is as soon as possible.

The Hevesy Laboratory is the radiopharmaceutical unit of DTU. We strive to develop new radioactive drugs for treating disease and improving the lives of patients, and we offer you an exciting possibility to join us.

The Position
As laboratory technician, you will join our efforts to develop innovative drug delivery systems for treating cancer with targeted radionuclide therapies. The position will be administered by DTU, but the work will be split 50:50 between the research group at the Hevesy Laboratory, and the radiopharmaceutical R&D program of the private company Y-mAbs Therapeutics A/S that is embedded within the Hevesy Laboratory.

You will participate in current and future projects of the research group. Our main current effort focuses on developing nanoparticle formulations of a highly potent, radioactive compound, with the aim to use these formulations to treat aggressive brain cancer. We already know that the compound works extremely well on the cellular level and in rats but in order to use it against brain cancer in humans, we need new nanoparticle based systems that can efficiently distribute and release the compound within the brain. You will participate in the development of these systems and work closely together with researchers at all levels.

With Y-mAbs Therapeutics, you will participate in the investigation, development and optimization of radiolabeled antibodies that are currently in clinical trials. These antibodies target leptomeningeal metastases from neuroblastoma and are used to treat children with this disease. Current priorities include optimization of radiolabeling yields and stability, while maintaining reactivity towards cancer cells. You will work closely together with the head radiochemist at Y-mAbs.
