National Conference on Ecosystem Restoration 2021

NCER is an interdisciplinary conference on large-scale ecosystem restoration presenting state-of-the art science and engineering, planning and policy in a partnership environment. NCER brings together scientists, engineers, policy makers, planners and partners from across the country actively involved in large-scale ecosystem restoration.

Since its inception, NCER has become the preeminent conference on ecosystem restoration in the United States. Today, we are in a new era. Resources are tight, and we face an uncertain climate future. Renewed vigilance on the use of public funding requires that we demonstrate progress in achieving restoration goals, clearly prove its value, efficiently and effectively share lessons learned and provide better coordination among all stakeholders ensuring the best use of future funding to achieve results. Restoration increasingly engages non-traditional conservation partners, opening new doors and creating new challenges.

We have made the decision to conduct NCER 2021 virtually due to the Coronavirus. Like you, we wish we could meet in person. The camaraderie and in-person interactions that we all enjoy so much are a hallmark of NCER. But considering these unique times, we hope you will be supportive of the virtual program, remain flexible and understanding, and work with us as we strive to make NCER 2021 the best it can be. Working together, we will make NCER 2021 successful and continue advancing science and restoration throughout the country and beyond. Online registration will open June 1.

NCER 2021 will be conducted on the Zoom virtual platform and will be spread over a two-week period to minimize screen-time fatigue and to allow the maximum number of presentations on restoration science. The program will consist of four plenary sessions, 35 concurrent sessions, posters and a formal poster session, and a two-part regional plenary along with some fun and interactive networking events.
