Precision medicine is a phrase that is often used to describe how genetic information about a person’s disease is being used to diagnose or treat their disease. Cancer is a disease of the genome and as more is learned about cancer tumors, the more we are finding that each tumor has its own set of genetic changes. Understanding the genetic changes that are in cancer cells is leading to more effective treatment strategies that are tailored to the genetic profile of each patient’s cancer.

Cancer genomics aims to advance personalized medicine through the DNA sequencing  and analysis of patient tumors to find new genetic alterations associated with specific cancers. Providing researchers with comprehensive catalogs of the key genomic changes in many major types and subtypes of cancer will support advances in developing more effective ways to diagnose, treat and prevent cancer.

Cancer Genomics & Personalised Medicine Summit-2018 is a forum for describing the development of genome-scale technologies and their applications. It aims to identify the recent advances in genome technologies and the ensuing outpouring of genomic information related to cancer which has accelerated the convergence of discovery science and clinical medicine. Translating cancer genomics into therapeutics and diagnostics reinforce its potential to make possible personalized cancer medicine. The summit is focussed on the importance of establishing the biological relevance of a cancer genomic discovery in realizing its clinical potential and discussing some of the major obstacles to moving from the bench to the bedside.

Cancer Genomics & Personalised Medicine Summit-2018 organised by Subhadra Healthcare, an emerging healthcare networking and consulting firm. The conference will provide an opportunity to learn about and keep up to date with the rapidly progressing area of cancer genomics. It will cover presentations from cancer genome projects, the areas of cancer functional genomics, systems biology, cancer immunogenomics and epigenomics, cancer mouse models and the translation and clinical impact of scientific results obtained.
