This conference is a biennial meeting for those committed to exploring how the fields of anthropology, economics, epidemiology, ethics, health policy, history, sociology, and literature can advance the practice and public understanding of medicine. Every two years, this conference provides an opportunity to revisit and reinvigorate this mission by creating a venue for graduates, trainees, and prospective students of MD-PhD training programs to build a community and present their research.
Presentations may take the form of a short research talk (12-minute talk with 5 minutes questions/discussion), research talk (20-minute talk with 8 minutes questions/discussion), or poster (one-hour poster session on Saturday). Abstracts should include a title (20 word maximum), a list  of authors and affiliations, and text limited to 300 words (excluding title, authors, and affiliations). Please list the presenting author first and use the following format for the abstract: Purpose, Methods, Results, Discussion/Conclusion. Define any abbreviations.  Please list any funding sources and disclose significant financial interests or relationships with entities having commercial interest in the subject matter (if none, insert "None”).  Please note that your abstract does NOT need to fit the conference theme.
