Е-мейл Оргкомітету: accents AT uni.lodz.pl.
Організатори: Department of English Language and Applied Linguistics
'Accents' is an annual conference organized by the Department of English Language and Applied Linguistics at University of Łódź, Poland. It brings together researchers and teachers interested in native and non-native accents of English, approached from a variety of theoretical and/or practical perspectives. The key issues discussed each year include individual accent characteristics, the dynamism of accent usage, accent in teaching and learning, the methods and tools for accent studies as well as pronunciation instruction. The leitmotif of Accents 2019 revolves around different contexts for the use of specific pronunciation features in spoken discourse in naturalistic and instructed settings.
We invite proposals for papers, workshops and posters related to the main theme of Accents across contexts as well as other issues related to native and non-native accents of English, including, but not limited to the ones mentioned below:
- Accents across domains: pronunciation in discourse
- Accents in natural environment: World Englishes, immigrant context, sojourners, etc.
- Accents in educational contexts: ESL, EFL, ELF, ESOL, EAP, etc.
- Pronunciation teaching, pronunciation instruction and instructed learning
- Native vs. non-native speaker pronunciation teacher
- English in Europe: pronunciation of Euro-English(es).
Please notice that each author can propose two contributions provided that one of them is co-authored. Papers are given 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes for discussion, workshops will typically have 45 or 90 minute slots. Please specify the intended presentation format in your proposal.
