The Association hosts an annual conference each fall at a centre of higher education in the area . Topics cover all areas of linguistics. In 2017 the conference took place at Cape Breton University in Sydney, Nova Scotia, and in 2018 it was hosted by Dalhousie University, Halifax. The site for the 2019 conference will be the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton campus.

The Association's journal, Linguistica Atlantica, is published annually and can found online at https://journals.lib.unb.ca/index.php/la...

Authors are invited to submit abstracts on their research, in English or French, in any area of linguistics and especially on the conference theme, which seeks to explore new discoveries in the areas of metaphor in particular or figurative language in general, viewed from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. Graduate students are welcome. Presentations are 30 minutes (20 minutes for presentation and 10 for discussion).
