Post doctoral scholarship

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our team at the Division of Molecular Medicine and Gene Therapy at Lund University, Sweden. The successful candidate will be supervised by Ilana Moscatelli (PhD) within Johan Richter’s (MD, PhD, Prof.) research group that is included in the Lund Stem Cell Center, a stimulating and highly interactive international research environment. The overall aim of our research project is to target hematopoietic stem cells to develop gene therapy for Infantile Malignant Osteopetrosis (IMO). The specific focus of this project will be to investigate the use of pre-osteoclasts as support cells during gene therapy to accelerate reversal of the disease progression. A parallel goal will be to expand our gene therapy method to new mouse models representing different mutations that can cause IMO.

Candidates are expected to have a strong background in cell biology and molecular biology as well as experience in handling and performing experiments on mice. Experience with blood cells and osteoclasts is an advantage. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required for consideration.
